Reactive Load

The Reactive load offers 120 watts of pure silence! Ideal for use if your amp has a built-in line out, or with one of our specialist DI recording solutions, for bedding in new valves and also for engineers running tests.

Our Reactive load utilises a massive inductance coil to ensure your recordings capture the natural sound of your tubes and transformer interacting just as they would with a real speaker

Even better our unique system, designed from the ground-up by us, allows you to tune the 'feel' of your amp:

The Inductance switch allows you to adjust how many windings your speaker has. High for more windings and more inductance, just like a high powered speaker, and low for less inductance and less windings just like a low powered speaker.

The Damping switch lets you select between highly damped, similar to a heavy cone speaker with stiff surround, or low, similar to a lighter speaker with softer surround.

Although you can subtly hear the tonal differences with these options the bigger difference is in feel, and how they make your amp come alive during silent recordings, emulating the real, varying impedance load of a loudspeaker, just as you are familiar with using.

Our 8 ohm model is by far the most popular and is always in stock and ready to ship. 4 and 16 ohm models are made-to-order so please allow 3 extra days for this, thank you!

Simply connect the Reactive Load to your amplifier's speaker output and use your amp's emulated output or line out to record. As long as your amp takes the signal from after the transformer then you'll hear the effects of the Reactive Load clearly. (If your amplifier uses analogue or digital emulation from before the power amp stage then sadly you weren't ever getting a true output from your amp and all the Reactive Load settings will sound the same.)

Or alternatively, connect the Reactive Load to our HotLine or any of our recording tools and get pure and perfect emulated line-level audio straight to your desk, recording device or any other equipment.

Our units are built to last using only premium and British made parts, so you can drive them as hard as you like, for as long as you like, without any worry.
